Inside Cafe Bedda

Cafe Bedda

Bedda - a term of endearment, the Sicilian word for "beautiful" or "bella".

Cafe Bedda is a little Italian cafe in Northcote, with its checkerboard floor, artwork and simple wooden tables, has a distinct Sicilian leanings.

People always ask us what the secret is. It’s easy!! Simple food made with great produce, the old fashioned way. We try to focus on how our mama and nonna would cook at home in the kitchen. In fact, you are bound to find nonna’s home made macheroni on the menu. Add the family-friendly service, a great wine list, you will be saying BEDDA all the way home.

The traditional flavours of Sicily are also brandished by the Messina beer, rabbitt ragu spaghetti with fresh tuna and a saffron infused fish soup.

The pizzas are also rightfully popular. These big, thin discs are suitably heat blasted, puffed slightly at the edges and sensibly topped without ever losing sight of the dough. Many of the pizzas also pay homage to Italy's big island topped with capers, tuna, anchovies, chicory and eggplant.

Cafe Bedda - this perfect little local Italian with old-style service and approachable and interesting food.

NEW seasonal menu now being served. Come in and experience some traditional Sicilian dishes.
